PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bacterium for producing a biofilm having a function of preventing adhesion of marine organism to an underwater structure, a coating material for preventing adhesion of marine organism, containing the bacterium and to provide a method for preventing adhesion of marine organism to an underwater structure, using the coating material. PSOLUTION: The bacterium belongs to the genus Stenotrophomonas or the genus Ochrobactrum and produces a biofilm. The coating material for preventing adhesion of marine organism comprises the bacterium.
