PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing aromatic hydrocarbon-based electrolyte membrane with seal material and aromatic hydrocarbon-based membrane electrode composite with seal material, in which high sealability, safety, and durability are provided and cost can be reduced by simplifying manufacturing processes. PSOLUTION: The method for manufacturing aromatic hydrocarbon-based electrolyte membrane with seal material includes the steps of: (1) boring a hole through the aromatic hydrocarbon-based electrolyte membrane; (2) setting the aromatic hydrocarbon-based electrolyte membrane in a mold used for forming the seal material; (3) pouring the seal material into the mold where the aromatic hydrocarbon-based electrolyte membrane is set; (4) heating the seal material at a temperature of 140C or higher; (5) releasing the aromatic hydrocarbon-based electrolyte membrane with the seal material from the mold; and (6) acidizing the aromatic hydrocarbon-based electrolyte membrane with the seal material.
