PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a target detection device quickly deciding a position or a direction of a target according to the change of a situation even under environment wherein an electric wave is reflected, and to provide a target presence information provision system using the target detection device. PSOLUTION: This target detection device detecting the target aroud a vehicle has: at least one pair of antennas installed in pairs with respect to the vehicle; a reception level detection means detecting a reception level of the electric wave received by each of the plurality of antennas; and a direction decision means comparing the reception levels detected by the reception level detection means corresponding to the respective antennas disposed in pairs, and deciding a relative direction of an origin of the electric wave to the vehicle based on a comparison result.
