PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a strain of the yeast which can no longer grow on substrates with a hexose as the only carbon source, and whose ability of growing on a substrate with a hexose as the only carbon source is restored when a GLUT1 gene is expressed. PSOLUTION: The strain of the yeast can no longer grow on substrates with a hexose as the only carbon source, and its ability of growing on a substrate with a hexose as the only carbon source is restored when a GLUT1 gene is expressed in this strain, wherein the strain comprises the GLUT1 gene expressible under functional control of a promoter.
