PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a raw material for a dense thin film capable of forming a thin film denser than a conventional one even on a dense ceramic substrate, to provide a dense thin film using the same, and to provide a solid oxide fuel cell single having an intermediate layer and having more excellent electricity generation performance than a conventional performance. PSOLUTION: The raw material for a dense thin film comprises a fine ceramic powder and a coarse ceramic powder having a 50% diameter larger than that of the fine ceramic powder. It is desirable that the 50% diameter of the fine ceramic powder falls within the range of from 0.05 m to 0.4 m, and the 50% diameter of the coarse ceramic powder falls within the range of from above 0.4 m to 2 m. It is desirable that the fine ceramic powder/coarse ceramic powder volume ratio falls within the range of from 10/90 to 90/10. The dense thin film is formed by forming a thin film precursor containing the raw material on a dense ceramic substrate and sintering the thin film precursor.
