PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silane-modified polyethylene resin composition for a crosslinked polyethylene pipe excellent in resistance to pressure and having good piping workability and productivity.;SOLUTION: A resin to be used as a polyethylene base resin has a specific molecular weight distribution in the measurement using a cross-fractionation apparatus in which temperature rising elution fractionation is combined with gel permeation chromatography. The polyethylene base resin, a silane compound, and a free radical generator are melted, kneaded, and reacted under heating to prepare a silane-modified polyethylene composition. The silane-modified polyethylene composition and a masterbatch in which the polyethylene base resin contains a silanol condensation catalyst are heated, melted, and kneaded to produce a silane-modified polyethylene resin composition for a crosslinked polyethylene pipe.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
