PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waist measurement apparatus for metabolic syndrome screening with which the waist can easily and correctly be measured. PSOLUTION: On a belt material 2, a non-covered conductor 4 whose resistance value per unit length is fixed is arranged in the longitudinal direction so as to connect a base part 1 and a distal end part 3. A resistance value measuring device 11 is arranged at the distal end part 3, one terminal 11a of the resistance value measuring device 11 is connected beforehand to the end part of the non-covered conductor 4, and the other terminal 11a of the resistance value measuring device 11 is connected to a contact terminal 5 inside the distal end part 3. The contact terminal 5 is exposed from the distal end part 3. A loop 23 is formed by winding the belt material 2 around a measurement object 17, and the contact terminal 5 is brought into contact with the conductor.
