PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multilayer structure nonspherical particle which can selectively transmit or reflect a wide range of specific wavelength light, and a method of producing the same with ease. PSOLUTION: The multilayer structure nonspherical particle has a structure having a center layer (L0) as a core and at least two layers (Ln) concentrically laminated thereon with respect to the center of the core, where all the differences of a refractive index between adjacent layers are each 0.01-1.5 and at least one layer of the center layer (L0) and the layers (Ln) is a metal oxide layer (M). The method of producing the particle involves at least two selected from the group consisting of (10) a production process using pulse laser irradiation, (20) a production process using a gaseous metal compound, (30) a production process using a sol-gel method and a double micell layer and (40) a production process using the sol-gel method, repeat of at least two of them or repeat of at least one of them, or (50) a production process using an opposite charge.
