PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an R-T-B based alloy which is a raw material for rare earth metal based permanent magnet having excellent magnetic characteristics.;SOLUTION: The R-T-B based (wherein, R is at least one kind among Y, La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Pm, Sm, Eu.
