PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a karaoke selection device equipped with a user interface for correctly selecting the music piece, in which a plurality of music works exist by the same music piece.;SOLUTION: The karaoke selection device accesses an index data base in which a work ID of a music work is related to the name of a music piece, artist name and version explanation information, When the work where the music piece name and the artist name are the same is extracted from the index data base according to user's input, and when the extracted work is N or less, one music piece name is selected by displaying the music piece names and the artist names of the works in a list; and in this case, when the extracted works other than the plurality of works where the music piece name and the artist name are the same is (N-1) or fewer, the plurality of works in which the music piece names and the artist names are the same are not displayed redundantly but are displayed in a list, together with the music piece names and the artist names of the other works. When common music piece names of the plurality of works are selected and input, version explanation information corresponding to the plurality of work IDs is displayed, and a single work can be selected.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
