PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus preventing an external attesting server from being locked, an attesting controlling method and an attesting controlling program. PSOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 1 is connected to the external attesting server 3 for performing attestation based on user attesting information through a network, receives the user attesting information, and forms an image based on a request for forming the image. The image forming apparatus 1 has an attestation inquiring means 12 for inquiring the attestation related to user attesting information to the external attesting server 3, an attested result receiving means 13 for receiving the attested result performed in the external attesting server 3, an attested result storing means 14 for storing the attested result received by the attested result receiving means 13, an attestation inquiring means 12, and a controlling means 16 for controlling the attested result receiving means 13 and the attested result storing means 14. The image forming apparatus 1 is characterized in that when the image forming apparatus 1 receives the user attesting information, the controlling means 16 performs the attestation based on the attested result stored in the attested result storing means 14.
