PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of inhibiting elution of harmful trace element and a coal fired power generation system, capable of effectively inhibiting the elution of harmful trace coal from combustion residue of the coal in the coal fired power generation system while reducing costs.;SOLUTION: In this coal fired power generation system comprising a combustion boiler for burning coal and a coal supply portion for supplying the coal to the combustion boiler, an elution inhibitor including one or more of limestone, slaked lime and calcined lime is added into a system between the coal supply portion and the combustion boiler to inhibit the elution of the harmful trace element from the combustion residue of coal. Further, the combustion residue of the coal is analyzed, a concentration of elution of the harmful trace element from the combustion residue is measured, and an additive amount of the elusion inhibitor is decided on the basis of a result of analysis.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
