PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a damage evaluation method for heat-resistant steel capable of precisely evaluating the creep remaining lifetime assessment, even in relation to heat-resistant steel having long-time durability, such as austenite type stainless steel.;SOLUTION: The heat-resistant steel being an inspection target is corroded, to form corrosion pits on the surface of the heat-resistant steel and pit number density being the number of the corrosion pits per unit area is detected, while the relation diagram of the creep remaining lifetime consumption ratio, showing the future lifetime up to the destruction of the heat-resistant steel and the pit number density is prepared, and the creep future lifetime of the heat-resistant steel is calculated from the relation diagram, on the basis of the detection value of the pit number density.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
