PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polysulfone excellent in acid-trapping ability, an electrolyte membrane produced using the polysulfone, and a fuel cell produced using the electrolyte membrane. PSOLUTION: The present invention relates to the polysulfone in which a nitrogen-containing functional group that tends to bind to an acid, and the electrolyte membrane produced using the polysulfone, and the fuel cell provided with such electrolyte membrane. In particular, the polysulfone has a structure, in which the nitrogen-containing functional group that tends to bind to an acid such as a phosphoric acid is introduced, is excellent in acid-trapping ability. The electrolyte membrane containing such polysulfone and an acid and controlling an amount of an acid-trapping solution, so that it can have improved ionic conductivity and excellent mechanical strength is provided.
