PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable one worker to uniformly flame-harden a workpiece.;SOLUTION: The flame hardening device 10 has a heating means 20 and a cooling means 40. The heating means 40 has a first nozzle 31, and the cooling means 40 has a second nozzle 51. A fore end 51a of the second nozzle 51 is turnable around a fore end 31a of the first nozzle 31 while the fore end 31a of the first nozzle 31 and the fore end 51a of the second nozzle 51 are held at a predetermined space therebetween. A flame 32 for heating a workpiece 60 is jetted from the fore end 31a of the first nozzle 31, and a cooling water 52 for cooling the workpiece 60 is jetted from the fore end 51a of the second nozzle 51. In addition, the second nozzle 51 is connected to and held by a turnable universal elbow 45, and the center axis of rotation of an outlet of the universal elbow 45 is matched with the direction of jetting the flame 32 from the fore end 31a of the first nozzle 31.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
