PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide accurate and highly convenient rainfall forecast by effectively using meteorological information released to the public. PSOLUTION: A rainfall forecast providing apparatus 1 receives positional information indicating a position of requesting rainfall forecast from a terminal device TM via a communication network NT. The rainfall forecast providing apparatus 1 receives 1-km mesh radar data and precipitation nowcast data from a meteorological data server DS and stores them in a data storage part 13. A rainfall determination part 14 sequentially reads the 1-km mesh radar data and the precipitation nowcast data and computes precipitation mesh rates, the ratios of rain areas to a determination mesh centering on the position of requesting rainfall forecast. In the case where the rainfall determination part 14 determines that the 1-km mesh radar data and the precipitation mesh rates of all the precipitation nowcast data are equal to threshold values or less, an information transmission part 15 transmits rainfall forecast data indicating no rainfall in one hour to the terminal device TM.
