PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a graphic diagram arrangement device for plotting intelligibly for a user in the case of automatically arranging non-hierarchical graphic diagrams.;SOLUTION: A graphic data storage part 106 stores a graphic diagram configured of a plurality of nodes and arcs defined as lines connecting the nodes having connection relations among those nodes as data. A graphic diagram arrangement part 103 defines the sum of functions showing the correlation of the set target values of the inter-node distances in a plurality of nodes and the corresponding actual inter-node distances about all the nodes as an evaluation function on the basis of data stored in the graphic data storage part 106. Also, in successively changing node layout in order to reduce the value of the evaluation function on plane arrangement, the graphic diagram arrangement part 103 arranges graphic diagrams without changing node arrangement about predesignated nodes.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
