PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems that diffraction light is not included in reflection light from a recording mark since a threshold does not exist in photon mode recording, that a track groove generating scattering of stray light and a recording/reproducing beam cannot be used in a multilayer recording medium, that servo mark formation by stampers for every recording layer cannot be applied since tact time is taken to bring cost increase when the number of the layers is large and that there is no tracking method even though tracking must be performed on a flat recording layer.;SOLUTION: Servo marks recorded by using recording light intenser than recording light used for usual recording are recorded on two tracks adjacent to each other and a tracking error signal is formed by detecting the servo marks.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
