PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the scale of an image forming apparatus in which the problem of a charging failure of a photosensitive image carrier is solved.;SOLUTION: An image forming mechanism comprises: the rotary image carrier 101; a first charging means 105 for charging the image carrier 101; a second charging means 106 by which the image carrier 101 is charged at the downstream of the charging means 105; destaticizing means 103 and 104 for destaticizing the image carrier 101 at a first destaticizing point that is the upstream of the first charging means 105 and at a second destaticizing point that is the downstream of the first charging means 105 but the upstream of the second charging means 106.
