PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polylactic acid monofilament having an extremely small reduction of physical properties over time in the case of preserving as its yarn package, and a method for producing the polylactic acid monofilament.;SOLUTION: This method for producing the polylactic acid monofilament obtaining the polylactic acid monofilament by subjecting the polylactic acid multifilament to a fiber-separating process is provided by winding the polylactic acid monofilament by 0.03 to 0.5 cN/dtex tension.
