PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an emergency auto-stopping device of an automobile in which an accelerator pedal and a brake pedal are to be stepped on by the driver's right foot individually, presenting no problem as long as the driving is made normally, but in case the accelerator pedal is chosen by mistake in an urgent phase in lieu of the brake pedal and stepped on strongly, there is a hazard of crash, and only in this case, the automatic braking is actuated to generate a quick stop.;SOLUTION: An eventual abnormal movement of the accelerator pedal is sensed by two sensors, i.e. a speed sensor 3, and a proximity sensor 4, and in conformity to the signal obtained, a motor is operated and the brake application is made through automatic control.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
