PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent defocusing occurring in a regular image for recording. PSOLUTION: A branch optical element 52 for reflecting infrared light, and for transmitting visible light is arranged behind a photographic lens 14. In the photographing of a through image, the branch optical element 52 is moved to an inclined position inclined to a photographic optical axis 44. Thus, the infrared light reflected by the branch optical element 52 is made incident on a focal position detection optical system 58 and a focal position can be detected. Also, it is possible to photograph the through-image since the visible light transmitted by the branch optical element is made incident on a CCD 74. In the photographing of the regular image, the branch optical element 52 is moved to a vertical position vertical to the photographic optical axis 44.
