PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an evaluation method for an installation position of a fence for coping with muddy water for evaluating the installation position quantitatively even if required input data is restricted.;SOLUTION: In this evaluation method for the fence for coping with muddy water in water storage facility to prevent a period of time when water in a reservoir 2 is polluted from becoming long, the fence 3 for coping with muddy water is arranged by floating it to stretch it over both banks of the reservoir 2 to form divided layers 4 divided by the fence in an upper layer on the downstream side 2b of the fence 3, and muddy water passes under the fence 3 and flows down into a lower layer flow-in layer 5 below the divided layers 4. Whether the installation position (height d of opening) of the fence for coping with muddy water or depth h of the fence is proper or not is quantitatively evaluated by using hydraulic indexes including, for example, Froude number Fd, Richardson number Ri, for taking notice of stability of the divided layers 4 ensured in a surface layer on the downstream side when installing the fence 3.
