PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technologies for registering a setting value of an ONU (Optical Network Unit), corresponding to an ONU identifier specifying the ONU and a service to a user accommodating the ONU into an OLT, confirming an ONU identifier of an ONU connected in Auto Discovery that occurs, together with the connection of the ONU, and automatically setting the setting value corresponding to the relevant ONU identifier to the ONU, when the ONU identifier is registered in the OLT.;SOLUTION: In an EPON (Ethernet-Passive Optical Network) system, an OLT 20 comprises: an ONU identification unit 21 for identifying an ONU identifier of an ONU 10 that becomes connectable, after completion of Auto Discovery; an ONU management database unit 22 previously storing information of ONU identifiers and ONU setting values A₁-A_N(N is the number of ONU setting items), corresponding to the ONU identifiers; an ONU setting control unit 23, which reads from the ONU management database unit 22 the information of an ONU-setting value A_n (1≤n≤N), corresponding to the ONU identifier and instructs transmission; and an ONU-setting instruction transmitting unit 24 which transmits to the ONU the information of the ONU setting value A_n, in response to the transmitting instruction. An ONU 10 comprises an ONU-setting instruction receiving unit 11 for receiving the information of the ONU-setting value A_n and an ONU-setting unit 12 for performing internal setting of the ONU, based on the information of the ONU setting value A_n, and automatic setting of the ONU-setting values A₁-A_N is performed remotely from the OLT 20.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
