PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide imatinib mesylate crystal of high dissolving rate in an aqueous fluid in terms of its solid state property. PSOLUTION: An imatinib mesylate's solvate or crystal form is provided, being characterized in containing a solvent selected from the group consisting of aliphatic alcohol, ether, nitromethane and acetic acid. The dissolving rate of the solvate's active ingredient in the gastric juice of a relevant patient is curatively important because the active ingredient subject to oral administration imparts an upper limit to the rate enabling the active ingredient to be delivered to the patient's blood stream.
