PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming a protective coating film locally only on the surface of an up-conversion material, and the up-conversion material having a protective polymer coat.;SOLUTION: This method for forming a polymer-coating film on the up-conversion material surface is provided by irradiating an incident light of necessary wavelength (near infrared light 14) for exciting the up-conversion material 10 in a region of interposed by the liquid containing a photosensitive radical generator 12 and photopolymerizable polymer precursor on the surface of the up-conversion material 10 for expressing the up-conversion luminescence, to the up-conversion material 10 for polymerizing the photopolymerizable polymer precursor by the up-conversion luminescence (visible light to ultraviolet light) of the up-conversion material.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
