HOST COMPUTER FOR TOLLING SYSTEM, TOLLING SYSTEM, ON-VEHICLE DEVICE, AND GANTRY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tolling system capable of tolling in a manner corresponding to an environmental load that a vehicle produces within an area for road pricing.;SOLUTION: The tolling system includes a plurality of gantries 2 provided on the boundary 1a of an area 1 for road pricing and inside the area, and a host computer 3. Based on gantry information sent from the gantries 2, the host computer 3 determines charges to vehicles running in the area 1. Because the gantries 2 are provided inside the area 1 for road pricing as well as on the boundary 1a of the area 1, the host computer 3 is able to recognize the way in which vehicles run within the area 1. With the host computer 3 recognizing the way in which vehicles run within the area 1, tolling corresponding to environmental loads that the vehicles produce within the area 1 is achieved.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
