Methods and processes quantifying single-walled carbon nanotubes in the sample (SWNT) content is disclosed. SWNT soot may be produced by a method of any known. To give (MAS) and 13 C NMR magic angle spinning with standards of known concentration and a sample suspected of containing the SWNT, and calculating the area under the curve for the standards and samples. As a result, the concentration of 13 C atoms involved in the formation of carbon SWNT is calculated. Finally, by taking into account the natural distribution of the 13 C isotope (approximately 1.1%), the total concentration of all of the carbon atoms involved in the formation of SWNT are calculated.
