PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently prepare a component library according to a plurality of CAD systems and design specifications while allowing the use of existing component library data.;SOLUTION: This component library preparing device comprises a storage device 20 storing layer information 20a for registering information on each layer (such as attribute of component data and subordination between layers) and by-layer component data 20b for holding the component data in association with layers registered as the layers to which the component data belongs in hierarchizing and registering data serving as the source of preparing the component library, a CPU 10, an input device 30 and an output device 40. The CPU 10 includes a data management means for associating the operating state of a user with the layer to hierarchize and manage component data required in preparing the component library, and a conversion means for converting component data hierarchized and registered in the respective layers, into the component library.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
