PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new compound forming an assembly with carbon nanotube by a non-covalent bond, to provide carbon nanotube, and to provide a method for structurally screening, separating and purifying carbon nanotube. PSOLUTION: The porphyrin dimer derivative is a new compound represented by chemical formula I (wherein, m is 0 to 17). The method for producing porphyrin dimer derivative comprises synthesizing the shown porphyrin derivative from bromobenzaldehyde, 4-alkylbenzaldehyde and pyrrole, and then reacting the porphyrin derivative with 9,9-dihexylfluorene-2,7-diboronic acid.
