PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas-barrier material having excellent barrier properties against a gas such as oxygen, and excellent retort resistance, and further to provide a method for producing the gas-barrier material, a coating liquid for forming a gas-barrier layer for forming the gas-barrier material, and a packaging material having the gas-barrier material. SOLUTION: The gas-barrier material is composed of a composition comprising (A) an ionic polymer component, (B) a nonionic polymer component having high hydrogen bondability, (C) a first crosslinking agent component for crosslinking the ionic polymer component (A), and (D) a second crosslinking agent component for crosslinking the nonionic polymer component (B) having the high hydrogen bondability.
