PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection method for a steel core cable by a superconductive quantum interference element, which determines a position where a flaw is present of the steel core cable and a flaw state, and to provide an inspection device therefor.;SOLUTION: In a residual magnetism free state, the superconductive quantum interference element detects (1) the non-uniformity of the continuous position forward arranged magnetic flux value of a minute magnetic flux value, which is detected from the aggregate region of a minute magnetic charge magnetic dipole when the magnetic dipole of the steel core cable being a material having a three-dimensional structure carries a minute magnetic charge to form the aggrigate of the minute magnetic charge magnetic dipole, and (2) the non-uniformity, which is generated at a position where a flaw is present by generating a leak magnetic flux from the steel core cable by applying a uniform magnetic field to the steel core cable, to determine the position where the flaw is present of the steel core cable and the flaw state regardless of a ternary composite material and a complicated structure.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
