WEB BROWSER ALLOWING NAVIGATION BETWEEN HYPERTEXT OBJECTS USING REMOTE CONTROLLER

摘要

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to easily access from a remote controller to information which the user desires to see on Web pages. PSOLUTION: Hypertext objects are displayed on a screen. A sorted list is generated as a sorted list according to locations of the objects. According to a user input entered from the remote controller, one of currently selected objects is deselected, and the other one is selected out of the hypertext objects. The user input includes a direction designation on the screen. Based on the input and the location of the currently selected objects in the sorted list, one of the objects to be selected is determined. A determination criterion is defined in advance according to the height and width of the object currently displayed on the screen, and a determination is made based on the criterion and direction designation by the user input.
