PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for granulating a raw material to be sintered, which does not need preliminary granulation with the use of a special facility when using the inexpensive and abundantly available Maramanba ore in a large amount for a raw material to be sintered, and maintains an adequate product yield and productivity in manufacturing a sintered ore.;SOLUTION: This granulation method comprises adding a granulation agent including at least one polymeric compound selected from the group consisting of polymeric compounds containing a carboxyl group and/or a salt thereof, compounds having an acid group and a polyalkylene glycol chain, a formalin condensate of β-naphthalenesulfonate, a formalin condensate of melamine sulfonate, a polymer of an aromatic aminosulfonic acid, and a lignin sulfonic acid-modified compound, in a ratio of 0.001 mass%-1 mass% in terms of a solid content based on the total mass of a raw material to be sintered for iron manufacture, into the raw material to be sintered including Maramanba ore of 5 mass%-50 mass% of a compounding ratio based on the total mass of new materials; and granulating them.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
