PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a music reproducing apparatus capable of displaying a video image where a background video image and a song character video image are merged. PSOLUTION: The music reproducing apparatus includes: a means for designating a position for displaying the video image of lyrics characters 68 (S16 and S24) for designating part of a background video image as a position at which the video image of lyrics characters is displayed; and a means for displaying the video image of lyrics characters 72 (S17) for displaying the video image of lyrics characters at the position designated by the means for designating the position for displaying the video image of lyrics characters 68. Thus, the music reproducing apparatus can combine the background video image with the video image of the lyrics characters without a sense of incongruity by overlapping the video image of the lyrics characters onto the prescribed position at which the background video image is taken into account.
