PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing gradation correcting curve for producing a gradation correction curve for correction of image gradation and to produce the gradation curve in a short time and with ease. SOLUTION: In this method, a first gradation correction curve is obtained by measuring the density of monochromic density patch of CMY and also a second gradation correction curve for each every monochrome of CMY is obtained from the measured value, by measuring the density of a gray-color density patch which consists of combined color of CMY, gradation correcting curves for each monochrome of CMY for correction of gradation are obtained, using both the obtained first gradation correction curve and second gradation correction curve.
