PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus, a photographing auxiliary light emitting/imaging control method, and a photographing auxiliary light source emitting/imaging control program which enable an accumulated quantity of auxiliary light irradiated from a light emitting element during an exposure period to each line of an imaging element to be constant among respective lines even when the imaging element is exposed by a rolling shutter system while performing PWM drive of the light emitting element. PSOLUTION: The imaging apparatus has: a light emitting element drive control means 27 for performing PWM drive control of the light emitting element; a frame period control means 24 for controlling exposure or reading in the imaging element; and an imaging element drive control means 25 for performing rolling shutter drive control of the imaging element based on an exposure or reading period by the frame period control means 24, the imaging apparatus is further equipped with a timing control means 29 for synchronizing the PWM drive controlled by the light emitting element drive control means 27 with the rolling shutter drive controlled by the imaging element drive control means 25.
