PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a laminated structure having machinability and workability similar to a dense metallic material by diffusion-welding a face material FM to an aluminum foam AF.;SOLUTION: A fine grained superplastic material to serve as the face material FM is superposed on both sides or one side of an aluminum foam AF in which countless bubbles are dispersed inside. While a compressive stress P (desirably 0.1 to 0.4 MPa) for plastically deforming the fine grained superplastic material is applied, the boundary between the aluminum foam AF and the face material FM is heated, so that the face material FM is diffusion-welded to the aluminum foam AF.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
