PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the need for a flocculating and settling stage weak in chemical consumption and load fluctuation and to economically remove a normal hexane extract and COD component at the same time by passing a gas-treated water generated in a desalting and carbonizing stage through the desalted and carbonized activated carbon obtained in a waste plastic desalting stage. ;SOLUTION: The treated water from a waste gas cleaner is boosted by a pump 10, supplied to the upper end of a retort 1a through a waste gas-treated water feed pipe 2a and a stop valve 9a, passed through a desalted and carbonized activated carbon A therein to adsorb and remove the normal hexane extract and COD component and then discharged through a treated water discharge pipe 4a at the lower end of the retort 1a and a stop valve 9e. When the absorptivity of the activated carbon A is lowered, the stop valve 9a is closed, and the stop valves 9b and 9f of another retort 1b are opened. Consequently, the treated water from the waste gas cleaner is supplied to the retort 1b, and the same adsorption and removal as before are performed in the activated carbon A.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
