PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for removing arsenic by a new microorganism having ability for adsorbing arsenic and a simple method for removing arsenic by well-known microorganisms at a low cost.;SOLUTION: The new microorganism, Bacillus megaterium UM-123, is isolated from soil and has ability for adsorbing arsenic. The method for removing arsenic by using the new strain expresses high removing rate for As(3) which has not been known.
