PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for removing arsenic by a new microorganism having ability for adsorbing arsenic and a simple method for removing arsenic by well-known microorganisms at a low cost.;SOLUTION: The new microorganism, Bacillus megaterium UM-123, is isolated from soil and has ability for adsorbing arsenic. The method for removing arsenic by using the new strain expresses high removing rate for As(3) which has not been known. The method for removing arsenic uses Bacillus megaterium, Bacillus subtilis and Escherichia coli as bacteria, Aspergillus niger as a mold and Saccharomyces cerevisiae as a yeast.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
