PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the updating and registering operations, for example registering a user authentication file in a plurality of printing devices, and secure a sufficient security to the user authentication information flowing on a network.;SOLUTION: One or more printing devices 150 for printing the given job are connected with a job server 130 through a network 170, wherein the job server 130 executes such processes as producing an public/private key for enciphering and deciphering the user authentication information, receiving the user identification information and the user authentication information enciphered by the public key from the printing device(s) 150, deciphering by the private key the user authentication information enciphered by the public key, authenticating the user identification information and the user authentication information using the user authenticating file in which their correspondence is described, and deleting the public key or private key produced.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
