PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell having a low loss resistance, high catalyst utilization factor, a reduced cost, and high output characteristics by forming a catalyst layer having high ionic conductivity, and high three-phase interface ratio, and suitable for suppressing crossover; to provide an electrode used for it; to provide its manufacturing method; and to provide electronic equipment having the electrode. PSOLUTION: The electrode for the fuel cell has a catalyst layer containing an ion conductive material, an electron conductive material, and a catalyst active material, an electrode for a direct fuel type fuel cell has no ion conductive material in the pores of primary particles of the electron conductive material having a pore size of 6 nm or less, the manufacturing method of the electrode for the direct fuel type fuel cell contains a process melting the ion conductive material by heating at glass transition temperature or higher and decreasing pores in the catalyst layer, the membrane electrode assembly uses the electrode for the direct fuel type fuel cell, and the direct fuel type fuel cell and the electronic equipment have the electrode.
