PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a filter for a plasma display panel wherein the visible region is transparent, and electromagnetic waves emitted from the plasma display panels can be shielded, also heat rays emitted from the panel, particularly even near infrared rays along with ordinary infrared rays. ;SOLUTION: This filter is provided with a metal reflecting layer 11 cutting a heat ray of 40% or more visible light beam permeability 25μm or less wavelength, on a transparent film base material 10, and a transparent adhesive agent layer 2 constituting a filter main unit 1 by providing an inorganic or organic transparent coat layer 12 on this layer 11, in at least one surface of this main unit 1.
