PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new α-ketol unsaturated fatty acid derivative which even when applied in a low concentration can develop plant growth regulating capabilities such as plant flower bud formation promoting capabilities and is excellent in stability and to provide a plant growth regulator containing the same.;SOLUTION: The α-ketol unsaturated fatty acid derivative is represented by formula (1). The plant growth regulator contains the same. In formula (1), R₁ is a 1 to 5C straight chain alkyl group or a 3 to 5C straight chain unsaturated hydrocarbon group having 1 or 2 double bonds; and R₂ is a 1 to 15C straight chain alkylene group or a 2 to 5C straight unsaturated hydrocarbon chain having 1 to 3 double bonds, provided that the number of carbon-to-carbon double bonds is 4 at maximum.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
