PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for adjusting viscosity of a polyamic acid solution in order to simply produce a polyamic acid-containing coating solution having uniform viscosity, and to provide a method for producing the polyamic acid-containing coating solution.;SOLUTION: The method for adjusting the viscosity of a polyamic acid solution is for producing a polyamic acid-containing coating solution. In this case, at least two or more polyamic acid solutions having mutually same recurring units and differing in solution viscosity are mixed to obtain a polyamic acid solution of arbitrary viscosity that is lower than that of the highest- viscosity polyamic acid solution and higher than that of the lowest-viscosity polyamic acid solution. The resultant polyamic acid solution is combined with a diluent or additives or a diluent and additives with stirring to produce the polyamic acid-containing coating solution.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
