PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for repairing a frozen sand mold and a surface protecting method, with which the preservation for long time under state of holding the surface state of the sand mold can be obtained and also, the broke position can quickly be repaired without needing the long time of hardening time at low temperature and without developing the lowering of the strength.;SOLUTION: When the frozen sand mold 1 molding with a frozen casting method is repaired, onto the broke part 1b of this frozen sand mold, water is covered and mainly, rapidly frozen with cold temperature having the frozen sand mold itself, or in the case of being the large breakage, such as the fall-down of a part of the frozen sand mold, a froze sand mold block 12 is beforehand prepared, and after forming the frozen sand mold to the size corresponding to the broke part at the repairing time, this frozen sand mold block is filled up to the broke part 1b and the gap between the frozen sand mold 11 and the frozen sand mold block 12, is filled up with the sand containing moisture and the water, and froze.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
