PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a layered manganese oxide porous body which has a large interlayer distance and excellent thermal stability. PSOLUTION: The layered manganese oxide porous body having an interlayer distance of 1.7 nm is realized by forming cross-linking between layers by aluminum polynuclear hydroxy ions. The layered manganese oxide porous body being cross-linked by aluminum hydroxide or nano particles of aluminum oxide and having an interlayer distance of 1.7 nm is realized by heat-treating the aforementioned layered manganese oxide porous body.
