PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically and continuously collect suspended particulate matter in the atmosphere, and to attain remarkable labor-saving and unmanning in observation or the like of the suspended particulate matter.;SOLUTION: In this device, atmospheric air is sucked by a pump 3 into a collecting vessel 1 storing a discharge electrode 4 and a dust collecting electrode 5 in its inside, and the suspended particulate matter P contained in the atmospheric air is charged to be collected on the collecting electrode 5, and the device is provided with an opening and closing mechanism 2 for opening and closing the capturing and collecting vessel 1, and a replacing mechanism 9 for replacing the dust collecting electrode 5 inside the vessel 1 with the dust collecting electrode 5 before use. The collecting electrode 5 is automatically replaced thereby with an unused dust collecting electrode 5 in every capture collection of suspended particulate matter P onto the electrode 5 over a prescribed time, and the suspended particulate matter is continuously collected over a long period without depending on manual operation.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
