PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for setting a density target of a printed matter, a method and an apparatus for managing a density as well as its offset printer which can eliminate a problem when the density is managed with each color of all colors as a density target predicted before printing, or as the density target by color matching by a person on the way of printing. ;SOLUTION: In a method for regulating an ink key of each color to be managed in the density, a black of a predicted density is used as the density target, and an indigo blue, a vermilion and a yellow are used by color matching after starting printing as the density target for offset printing using at least four colors of the black, the indigo blue, the vermilion and the yellow. The apparatus for setting the density target comprises a K density target input means, density measuring means of the indigo blue, the vermilion and the yellow on the printed matter, density target input means of the indigo blue, the vermilion and the yellow, and an ink key regulation control means for controlling a regulation of the ink key of each color based on the density target of the set each color.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
