PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suitably detect fault occurrence in a computer system and to automatically collect information necessary for fault removal.;SOLUTION: A trace information collection system for collecting trace information indicating the processing process of a program is provided with: a history recording part for recording the operation and stop history of a target program of which the trace information is to be generated; a similarity calculation part for calculating similarity indicating a degree of similarity of an operation pattern by which the target program is operated and stopped in the preceding time to an operation pattern by which the target program is operated and stopped before the preceding time when the stopped target program is started to be operated; a fault occurrence determination part for determining the occurrence of a fault in the preceding operation of the target program under a condition that the similarity calculated by the similarity calculation part is lower than reference similarity; and a trace information collection part for collecting trace information, which is not collected when the occurrence of a fault is not determined, from the target program in response to determination of fault occurrence.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
